Learning, Improving, and Growing
At Nxt Gen IT, our goal is to continuously improve how we serve our customers. That’s why we’ve made the bold decision to migrate from our current system to a new platform called Halo. After careful reflection and evaluation, we’re confident that changing systems will help us grow, streamline our services, and better meet your needs.
But making this decision wasn’t easy. Moving on from a platform we committed to just a year ago required us to face some tough truths and make a courageous call for the sake of our customers and our team.
The Difficult Decision to Move On
When we adopted SuperOps in November 2023, we did so with optimism and high expectations. It promised features and efficiencies that aligned with our vision of delivering excellent service. Unfortunately, over the past year, it became increasingly clear that SuperOps wasn’t the right fit for our needs.
This wasn’t a simple or quick realisation. Changing systems was not on the plans for this uear and migrating to a new platform is a significant undertaking. Not just in terms of resources, but also the potential disruption it can cause. We knew this change would come with challenges, but the cost of staying with a system that didn’t meet expectations was far greater.
We had to ask ourselves some tough questions:
- Were we holding on to the current platform simply because of the investment we’d made?
- Could we provide the best possible service to our customers if we continued with this system?
- Would a better platform make a noticeable difference for our customers and team?
Ultimately, we decided that moving on was the right choice for everyone involved. This decision wasn’t about failure; it was about recognising that sometimes the tools we choose don’t deliver what we need, and that’s okay.
In another blog, Knowing When to Call It: Learning from IT System Mistakes, we explore this decision in greater depth, sharing insights and lessons learned from this experience. We hope our journey will provide valuable takeaways for others navigating similar challenges.
Why Halo?
Making the decision to abandon one platform was only the first step. Choosing a replacement required careful evaluation, and Halo stood out as the best solution for several key reasons:
- Tailored for MSPs: Halo was built specifically for Managed Service Providers like us, addressing the unique challenges we face and aligning with ITIL best practice.
- Comprehensive Features: Halo integrates all facets of our business—support, sales, finance, and projects—into a single platform.
- Customisation: We can configure Halo to suit our specific needs, ensuring it works seamlessly for both us and you.
- AI-Driven Insights: Halo’s AI integration helps us analyse ticket trends and gain actionable insights into our data, improving how we respond to and anticipate your needs. Importantly, AI will not be taking actions or responding to tickets—it’s there to support our team with data analysis and insights.
- Scalability and Future-Readiness: As our business grows, Halo has the flexibility and scalability to grow with us, ensuring we’re always equipped to meet your needs.
